The History Of The Brand
French luxury fashion house Celine was founded by Celine Vipiana in 1945. The brand was originally selling bespoke children’s shoes and only added womenswear, fragrance, leather handbags and watches a few years later.
American fashion designer, Michael Kors became the creative director of the brand in 1997 and changed the image of Celine completely. The brand grew to be one of the most prestigious designer labels in the world. In the late 1990s Céline became part of the LVMH group alongside major brands Dior, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Fendi.
